Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND Graduate students enrolled in a graduate program are eligible to be hired in this position.
The English Conversation Facilitator will promote dialogue and give English learners the opportunity to learn new vocabulary, to listen to and participate in English conversations, and to improve their English language skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help the group develop language skills.
- Conduct periodic assessment of student progress and understanding to identify learning needs.
- Administrative and customer service work with scheduling and other various administrative tasks.
- Communicate regularly with the Director of the International Center to discuss concerns and identify needs of international students.
- Prepare weekly session plans and activities and provide appropriate materials.
- Provide data on each session for tracking purposes.
- Intercultural sensitivity.
- Respect for cultural differences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Current UND Graduate student enrolled in English graduate program.
- Native in English
- Eligible for Graduate Assistantship
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching, customer service, or related fields
