Salary/Position Classification

• $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 3-9 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

Esports Broadcasters will talk to a live audience on the Varsity Esports twitch and commentate what is happening in the game.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Live commentate the Varsity Esports Matches: 
  • Work with the other Esports Commentator to broadcast the Varsity Esports match to a live audience 
  • Communicate effectively and professionally throughout the broadcast 
  • Educate the viewer on what is happening in the match during real time so the audience can follow along easily 
  • Communicate to the audience in a way that anybody watching the game for the first time can understand 
  • Prepare for upcoming esports match by: .
    • Researching the opponent 
    • Learn changes in the game from previous patches 
    • Discuss an overall topic to focus on for the cast 

Minimum Requirements

• Strong communication skills and the ability to talk about esports games with no script
• Ability to work well and communicate with another esports broadcaster
• Good knowledge of at least two of the following games:
  • League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Counter Strike 2 and Marvel Rivals
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
