Purpose of Position
Esports Broadcasters will talk to a live audience on the Varsity Esports twitch and commentate what is happening in the game.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Live commentate the Varsity Esports Matches:
- Work with the other Esports Commentator to broadcast the Varsity Esports match to a live audience
- Communicate effectively and professionally throughout the broadcast
- Educate the viewer on what is happening in the match during real time so the audience can follow along easily
- Communicate to the audience in a way that anybody watching the game for the first time can understand
- Prepare for upcoming esports match by: .
- Researching the opponent
- Learn changes in the game from previous patches
- Discuss an overall topic to focus on for the cast
Minimum Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the ability to talk about esports games with no script
- Ability to work well and communicate with another esports broadcaster
- Good knowledge of at least two of the following games:
- League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Counter Strike 2 and Marvel Rivals
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
