Salary/Position Classification

  • $14.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with costume construction, alterations, and repairs (sewing, cutting, fitting, finishing).
  • Help organize and maintain costume stock, fabric, and supplies. Support fittings by preparing garments, taking notes, and assisting actors. Perform basic laundering, ironing, and steaming of costumes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the costume shop and dressing areas.
  • Assist with pulling, labeling, and tracking costumes for productions.
  • Help with costume strikes (cleaning, storing, and returning costumes after shows).
  • Provide general support to the Costume Shop Manager, designers, and other staff.
  • Occasionally assist backstage with quick changes or costume emergencies during performances.

  • Costume construction
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
