Purpose of Position
The Department of Communication (A&S) is seeking a motivated and organized Undergraduate Research Assistant to support the Principal Investigator and Graduate Research Assistant in executing tasks related to a research grant.
The research is a clinical trial that aims to evaluate a radon app's effectiveness in enhancing radon knowledge and encouraging mothers of infants to use free radon test kits they receive. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in working on a research grant and provides the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research outcome.
This is a hybrid position, requiring work on campus and virtual via Zoom. The position seeks an undergraduate student from Communication, Journalism, Health Studies, Public Health Education, or related fields.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contributing to writing reports and papers
- Assisting with data tracking, analysis and reporting
- Conversion of data into an analysis-ready format
- Assisting with developing research presentations and video training materials
- Assisting project team members with research productivity
- Answering participants’ and support staff’s questions
- Identifying additional research grant opportunities
Minimum Requirements
- Very good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Qualtrics, Canva, etc.)
- Prompt responses to communications, including emails and phone calls
- Self-starter, hardworking, passionate regarding research and reporting
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

- Applicants who are completing coursework in Communication, Journalism, Health Studies, Public Health Education, or related fields
