- This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus.
Purpose of Position
To best support students on the continuum between being a pre-med student to practicing medicine, this position is key as the main contact for the INMED program. Advising, program development and support, student advocacy, data collection and utilization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Advising of INMED graduate, professional, medical and other clinical degrees
- Develop peer and faculty tutor or mentor programs
- Expand and support portfolio of students in graduate health degrees in addition to PhD and MD students
- Work with Allied Health degree programs across UND and SMHS to support admissions and retention initiatives
- Serve as subject matter expert for various admissions teams across SMHS
- Work closely with at-risk students to develop individualized plans for success
- Support medical student writing activities (CV's, personal statements, articles and presentations.)
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs focused on student success
- Measure student and program outcomes to support program improvements
Coordinate CLIMB, Pre-Admissions workshops, and admission initiatives
- Organize and facilitate CLIMB and other pre-matriculation programs
- Identify resources to implement summer college level programs
- Identify, recruit and supervise temporary staff associated with these programs
- Identify and recruit program participants to these programs
- Assist with Med Prep as needed
Student and alumni engagement, data utilization
- Utilize data to assess and improve program outcomes
- Co-develop a student tracking database program to identify and track current and past INMED students
- Co-develop a program evaluation plan and coordinate data collection and analysis to assess INMED program outcomes and benchmarks
- Maintain efficient database to make strategic decisions through data analysis
- Maintain a database of INMED alumni
- Create, support, and facilitate engagement opportunities for current students and alumni
Required Competencies
- Familiarity with ND student trends
- Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in education or related field
- 5 years' experience in higher education or related field
- At least one year of experience working directly with American Indian Medical and Allied health students in an advising or program delivery capacity
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Education or related field
- Experience with medical school admissions process and procedures
