Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. Seeking a technically skilled Research Assistant to support the development of a web-based AI Vocal Training App designed to expand access to high-quality voice instruction for learners in rural and underserved communities. The RA will collaborate with faculty on coding, system architecture, and implementation of real-time vocal analysis tools. This position combines applied software development with research in music technology, pedagogy, and human-centered design
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of a responsive web-based vocal training platform
- Participate in research design, workflow development, and iterative product refinement
- Contribute to data organization and preparation for research dissemination
- Contribute to ongoing projects and new research in the relative areas
- Assist in the organization of research findings
Minimum Requirements
- Current UND student
- App development experience for desktop and mobile, especially web applications.
- Proficiency in relevant software and programming languages (client and server-side technology stacks—JavaScript, Node.js, Python, HTML, and CSS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
