Salary/Position Classification

  • $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

  • Focused work generating synthetic distribution feeders using Python and OpenDSS
  • Direct contribution to power system resilience research

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use the OpenDSS Python package to generate synthetic distribution power system models
  • Develop and execute Python scripts to create, parameterize, and validate realistic feeder configurations
  • Support data preparation, model customization, and output validation for resilience studies 

Minimum Requirements

  • Able to work in-person (Grand Forks, ND)
  • Enrolled undergraduate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field
  • Basic to intermediate Python programming skills
  • Willingness to work with the OpenDSS Python package (opendssdirect or similar)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
