Salary/Position Classification

• $20.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 20 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform numerical modeling on satellite communication windows and orbits 
• Optical measurements of station viewline and obstructions
• Modeling and measurements of atmospheric visibility for link budgets
• Support installation of new equipment at optical ground station

Minimum Requirements

• Interest in Satellite operations
• Coding experience in python
• Experience in experimental optics through course work or research
• Majoring in physics program Junior or senior year
• completed Optics course PHYS 325
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
