Salary/Position Classification

  • $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 15-20 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain multiple types of cells in culture using sterile technique
  • Isolate total from cells and tissues
  • Generate cDNA and complete quantitative real time PCR reactions
  • Conduct protein detection and quantification assays
  • Maintain a complete and detailed research notebook
  • Utilize basic software and analysis platforms (i.e. Office, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Experience with microscopy/imaging is preferred but not required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completed the majority of the core Biology and Chemistry courses with good academic standing
    Dependable person interested in cell & molecular research who can read the relevant primary research literature and quickly pick up new protocols
  • Must be able to work constructively in a diverse laboratory team environment and be willing to present their research results in informal and formal settings.
  • The individual will be required to complete appropriate safety training with the principal investigator and in conjunction with the UND Office of Safety.
  • The individual will be required to maintain safe and ethical research practice while on the job
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
