Salary/Position Classification

  • $12.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5-10 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

The Legislative Affairs Commissioner supports Student Government’s legislative priorities by monitoring bills, conducting research, and providing policy analysis throughout the legislative session.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain legislative tracking systems
  • Research bills affecting students and higher education
  • Prepare legislative summaries and updates
  • Assist with testimony and advocacy efforts
  • Support legislative committees and initiatives 

Required Competencies

  • Research and analytical skills
  • Interest in public policy

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled UND student
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
