  • $89,900 - $90,000 9-month contract, Exempt

Purpose of Position

The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.

The University of North Dakota's CNPD is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Social Work as well as the Children & Family Services Training Center. For this position, the graduate nursing department seeks a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor.

The Clinical Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching in the MS and DNP advanced practice nursing programs (including advising Independent Study projects and DNP scholarly projects) in the graduate nursing program as well as serving on University, college and/or department committees.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 90% - Teaching and Advising Students
    • Teaching and advising students in the MS and DNP advanced practice nursing programs (includes advising independent study projects).
    • Potential courses to be taught include:
      • NURS 500 Theories & Concepts in Nursing
      • NURS 502 Evidence for Practice
      • NURS 505 Advanced Pharmacology
      • NURS 526 Ethical, Lega, and Health Policy Issues
      • NURS 544 Pharmacotherapeutics for Primary Care
      • NURS 618 Diagnostics & Therapeutics in Acute Care
      • NURS 997 Independent Study
  • 10% - Service to the University, College and/or Department Specific duties will be coordinated with the department chair.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in nursing
  • Current certification in an advanced practice nursing specialization
  • Unencumbered nursing license
  • Ability to obtain license in ND and other states as required
  • Current clinical experience as an advanced practice provider
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
