Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and maintenance of web-based applications.
- Support the design and management of databases to meet departmental needs.
- Develop and update application features using PHP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS.
- Test applications and help identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with team members on software development projects and technical initiatives.
- Work independently on assigned tasks while meeting project deadlines.
- Participate in application planning, development, implementation, and maintenance activities.
- Document code changes, technical procedures, and project updates.
- Follow established programming standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
- Gain hands-on experience with object-oriented programming and modern web development technologies.
Required Competencies
- This position is responsible for participating in the development of object-oriented applications and databases based on departmental needs. Applications are developed using languages including PHP, JS, SQL, HTML, and CSS. The position works both individually and as part of a team.
Training for a variety of topics will be provided as part of this position. Required experience does not necessarily need to be in a workplace environment. Our applicants are typically involved with Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; however, that is not required.
Minimum Requirements
- Student for the 2026 academic year
- Ability to work on campus
- Experience with programming/development
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and be a team player
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PHP, JS, SQL, HTML, or CSS
- Experience with Linux
- Experience developing or designing user interfaces
- Ability to work during the summer term
