The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team at Jindera in the Riverina Murray Region. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone available on weekends who is passionate about food and service to make a real impact in the lives of our residents.
About the role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering quality food service to residents by assisting in meal preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and safe food practices. You will be part of a dedicated team that ensures meals are nutritious, well-presented, and compliant with food safety standards.
Key duties include:
Planning, preparing, and cooking fresh meals
Providing table service and performing clearing duties
Assisting with bulk food preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Maintaining food safety and hygiene in line with HACCP compliance
Supporting the kitchen team to deliver a high standard of service to residents
What you will need
Experience in cooking and preparing fresh meals
Knowledge of food safety practices (HACCP compliance)
Experience in aged care or commercial kitchens (desirable)
Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
Excellent communication skills and teamwork
High level of motivation and reliability
Availability to work various shifts across the week, including weekends
