The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our caring team at Oolong Hostel in the beautiful Riverina Murray Region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing wholesome meals in a supportive environment, with weekend availability essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals for our residents

  • Provide friendly and respectful table service

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and assist with clearing duties

  • Comply with Food Safety and HACCP regulations

  • Be part of a team committed to resident wellbeing and quality care

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in meal preparation and kitchen work

  • Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and HACCP compliance

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen; aged care experience desirable

  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends

What You’ll Need to Get Started

  • Proof of COVID-19 and annual flu vaccinations (as per UPA policy)

  • Successful completion of a National Criminal History Check

  • Pre-Employment Medical Assessment clearance
