About the role:
The Field Service Advisor coordinates and provides technical oversight of on-call and afternoon shift mechanical, electrical, fabrication and body repair activities, while managing appliance repair, modification, and operational support programs across the FRNSW fleet.
The Field Service Advisor applies specialist technical and trade-based expertise to assess complex vehicle faults, operational damage and modification requirements, determine appropriate repair and recovery pathways, coordinate technical resources, and provide authoritative advice to support frontline operational capability and fleet availability.
About you:
You will be required to:
- Diagnose equipment faults and methods to be employed in the repair of such faults and allocate resources to resolve in a timely manner.
- Modify appliance stowage configuration to meet Operational requirements and maintain axle loading legal requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest vehicle fabrication methods, accident repair and painting techniques by attending appropriate trade shows and conferences.
- Provide technical support and advice relating to heavy vehicle systems, emergency service appliance modifications, operational damage assessments, and fleet recovery strategies.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrated technical capability in a motor vehicle or appliance environment, including the ability to assess faults, determine appropriate repair pathways and provide technical advice to operational and maintenance staff.
- Current motor vehicle driver licence, with the capacity to obtain additional licences relevant to the role where required.
