Days & Hours of Work: 38 hours per week over a Saturday and Sunday with 3 weekdays (total 5 working days)
Competitive Salary: 4A $74,980.49 (Up to $114,868 inclusive of penalty rates) per annum plus 12% superannuation
Location: Based at the Corporate Centre in Sandringham

About the Role:

This unique role will contribute to the safety and amenity of the municipality, through conducting parking patrols over the weekends. The successful candidate will be trained to proficiently perform parking duties to meet community expectations. You'll engage with the community, address concerns, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with legislation through education, enforcement, and collaboration with internal and external departments and other agencies

Parking Officers encourage convenient, improved, and fair car parking availability for Bayside residents by encouraging parking turnover and improved utilisation of parking spots for all road users. The role provides diligent and excellent service to ensure Bayside residents enjoy a convenient and safe neighbourhood.

Additional responsibilities of the role include:

  • Reporting damage to parking equipment, parking signs and other road infrastructure issues
  • Supervising school crossings when required

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Qualification in an enforcement/justice related discipline or relevant experience
  • Have a sound knowledge of the Victorian Road Safety Road Rules 2017
  • Significant experience in a high-pressure customer service environment
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Resilience and diplomacy in challenging interactions
  • Ability to make sound judgement, assess safety risk and to interpret parking regulations

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
  • Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check
  • Full Victorian Driving Licence
