    • Makerspace Instructor (Part-Time) in Harrisonburg

      James Madison University’s (JMU) Libraries seeks a team-oriented person for the position of Makerspace Instructor. The successful candidate will assume a lead role in providing guidance and instruction to patrons and other student employees. Must be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment. Will provide excellent customer service assisting patrons with questions related to their makerspace projects and class assignments. Must be willing to learn and advance their troubleshooting skills in a variety of applications and equipment related to audio/video production work, 3D printing, laser cutting, and textiles. Previous working knowledge of the equipment and technologies mentioned above is preferred. Position coverage includes days, evenings, and weekends across two locations within JMU Libraries. This is a part-time wage position with no benefits working an average of 29 hours per week.       The Office of Strategic Gifts at James Madison University is accepting applications for three Development Officers. The office is responsible for developing and managing programs leading to private gifts which will support and advance the university's faculty, students and programs. The staff identifies potential donors, educates alumni, parents and friends about the financial needs of the university and conducts solicitations to meet those needs. The purpose of these positions is to solicit private gifts that support scholarship, faculty support, capital projects and endowment requirements of the university. Projects will require close working relationships with faculty, academic administrators and other university officers, and an understanding of academic and co-­curricular program goals and objectives of a college/program. The Development Officers in this recruitment will liaise with the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Business and the College of Integrated Science and Engineering.
