      The Department of Health Professions in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies (CHBS) at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Dietetics program at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 10, 2026. The Dietetics program is comprised of an undergraduate Didactic Program in Dietetics and the Applied Nutrition graduate program, both accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The faculty member will work collaboratively with faculty from the other programs in the Department of Health Professions (Athletic Training, Health Services Administration, Occupational Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies), as well as with other academic units within CHBS.     • Book Arts & Preservation Librarian in Harrisonburg

      JMU Libraries seeks an enthusiastic and innovative leader for the new position of Book Arts & Preservation (BAP) Librarian in the Digital Scholarship & Distinctive Collections (DSDC) department. The BAP Librarian is a full-time, Administrative & Professional Faculty position that will join the collaborative DSDC leadership team and report to the DSDC director. DSDC stewards rare books, manuscripts, and archives; supports digital scholarship methods in teaching, learning, and research; and preserves general and distinctive collections at JMU. The BAP Librarian will lead the Book Lab, a highly visible preservation space in the renovated and expanded Carrier Library (opening August 2026) and will support teaching, learning, and making in the JMU community. The position will embrace the opportunity to shape the Book Lab as both a working space for collections preservation and a site of active learning for students, faculty, and staff. The BAP Librarian will lead and offer comprehensive preservation services for general, music, and distinctive collections at JMU Libraries, to include custom housing, non-commercial binding, repair and conservation, environmental monitoring, disaster planning, and exhibit installation. The position will also support learning in the Book Lab through events, class sessions, workshops, and other offerings focused on preservation, conservation, and book arts. As the BAP Librarian shapes the space and services, student employees may be hired and supervised by the position to support the Book Lab. DSDC values collaboration, and the BAP Librarian will welcome opportunities to engage in teamwork and integrate book arts and preservation with the broad responsibilities of the department.     • Visiting Lecturer - Department of Engineering in Harrisonburg

      The Department of Engineering at James Madison University (JMU) invites applicants to join our community and support our project-intensive undergraduate engineering curriculum. We are seeking to hire at least one Visiting Lecturer to start in August 2026. The position will be for an initial ten-month period; there may be the possibility of a subsequent one-time renewal. The JMU Department of Engineering is a community of educators committed to contributing to a welcoming scholarly environment, who support each other in achieving broad success in teaching, scholarship, and service. The department offers an ABET-accredited BS degree in engineering with new concentrations in civil and environmental, geo-environmental, and electromechanical systems. Anchored in the liberal arts through the university’s general education program, JMU’s engineering major is characterized by experiential learning of engineering in team-based settings, and the major culminates in a two-year-long engineering project experience. The department currently has fifteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members representing multiple engineering disciplines, seven support staff, and approximately 750 students. Its strengths include dedicated faculty and staff, an engaged and invested student body and alumni, strong administrative and lab support, and well-equipped laboratories and design studios.       The Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is seeking a Student Support Specialist with strong professional experience and a polished, service-oriented approach to supporting students and families. The Student Support Specialist serves as a key point of contact for study-abroad–related questions that come through the office’s communication channels and supports students and families throughout all stages of the study abroad process. The role provides clear and friendly initial guidance, supports communication and preparation before students depart, assists with first-level communication while students are abroad, and helps facilitate re-entry support upon their return.
