General Information:

James Madison University’s School of Accounting (SOA) invites applications for a renewable term appointment at the rank of Lecturer beginning in the Fall of 2025. Lecturer appointments are non-tenure track but promotable. The teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours per semester (4/4). Additional teaching opportunities occur during summer sessions. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include teaching introductory financial and managerial accounting. Other duties include departmental service and maintaining professional qualifications in accordance with the College of Business Guidelines for Faculty Qualifications.

 

Qualifications:

Required:
• Master’s degree in accounting or business from an AACSB-accredited institution.
• Significant and substantive professional work experience within the past five years relevant to the position or currently qualified as an instructional or scholarly practitioner at an AACSB institution.

Preferred:
• Certified Public Accountant.
• Experience in or demonstrated potential for developing and teaching courses in spreadsheet skills or data analysis for accountants.
• Ability to teach spreadsheet and data analytics courses.
