General Information:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to provide support to the Budget and Finance Specialist for JMU's Constituent Engagement unit. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise in bookkeeping and budgeting along with strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Someone in this position will assist Constituent Engagement's Budget and Finance Specialist with various duties, including:
- Reconciling and reporting for several budgets
- Making and documenting purchases and payments
- Processing travel reimbursements
- Data entry (Excel spreadsheets) and filing
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with bookkeeping, meeting auditing standards, budgeting
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are essential
- Professional written and oral communications
- Proven project management skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
Additional Considerations:
- Knowledge of JMU policies and procedures
- Administrative support experience

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
