Production Services Manager in Harrisonburg
The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts is the premier performing arts destination in the Shenandoah Valley presenting world-class theatre, dance and music entertainment. The Center houses 5 performance venues – a 600-seat Concert Hall, 450-seat Mainstage Theatre, 200-seat Recital Hall, 200-seat Earlynn J. Miller Dance Theatre and a flexible seating Studio Theatre Black Box. The Center presents an annual Encore Season featuring up to 16 internationally recognized professional artists/ensembles. 300+ ticketed and non-ticketed performances are presented annually including guest artists, faculty members and emerging young talent from JMU’s CVPA. The Forbes Center attracts over 45,000 patrons per year. With 200+ full-time faculty members and 1,300 full-time majors, CVPA brings together Schools of Art, Design and Art History (SADAH); Music (SOM); and Theatre and Dance (STAD). CVPA also houses the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts, the Office of Creative Propulsion (OCP), Madison Art Collection, and multiple Art Galleries. The OCP is focused on integrative arts – bridging gaps across disciplines and between the university and the community to support collaboration in the arts. The CVPA is committed to advancing division- and university-level strategic goals, and empowering students to act boldly, justly and inclusively to create their unique path. The Production Services Manager is a full-time exempt 12-month Classified Staff position within the CVPA. We seek a dynamic, well-qualified production management professional to engage and support a complex performing arts center season and a College of Visual and Performing Arts. The ideal candidate will have the capacity and drive to deliver expert technical management and production staff oversight for professional guest artist, student, and faculty performances. The position reports to and is evaluated by the Executive Director of the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts.

The Department of Computer Science at James Madison University invites applications renewable term appointment (RTA) position at the rank of Lecturer, to serve in the new Information Technology Major, to begin August 2025. The B.Sc. in Information Technology (IT) is one of the two undergraduate degrees offered by the Department of Computer Science (CS) at JMU. IT has a focus on computer networking, cyber security, web technologies, data science/machine learning and mobile development. The IT program accepted our first freshman class in Fall 2022, has more than 240+ students, and is rapidly growing. The IT major puts students in the middle of the IT revolution where they study the tools and methods deployed in the enterprise community in areas such as communication network, software defined network, information security and wireless networks. The JMU Computer Science Department is a dynamic and supportive community with 31 full-time faculty members and approximately 900 undergraduate students in the CS and IT majors. We also offer an online M.S. Degree in Computer Science concentration in Cyber-Security. Our supportive community is dedicated to maintaining a culture that balances excellence in teaching and small class sizes with opportunities for faculty and student research. Active clubs and organizations include TechLink, Women in Technology, Robotics, Forensics, Unix Club, Cyber Defense, and a student ACM chapter.

Duke Club Graduate Assistant-Marketing and Communication in Harrisonburg
James Madison University (JMU) Duke Club is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant. This is a two-year position, August-May, contingent on performance and academic program requirements. The position includes 12 tuition credits per semester (fall and spring). A stipend will be provided per semester. The candidate will work approximately 20 hours per week. The candidate must be in the process of obtaining a master’s degree at James Madison University and possess a strong desire to recognize, celebrate, and impact athletics annual giving and donor engagement initiatives through collaboration with department staff as well as JMU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors. The Duke Club is the fundraising arm for JMU Athletics, providing financial support to all 18 varsity sport programs. Duke Club members are Proud & True Fund (PATF) donors who recognize the value of the student-athlete experience and the JMU education — helping to keep JMU Athletics programs among the best in the nation. Support of the Proud & True Fund is vital to the continued success of more than 500 JMU student-athletes and makes a significant impact on each athlete and program. Position Reporting & Program Information: Reporting to, and with assistance from designated staff, the Director of Internal Operations and Events with the Duke Club. The Duke Club is the fundraising arm and annual fund (Proud & True Fund) for JMU Athletics that supports the 18 varsity sport programs, scholarships, and the athletics general operating budget — as well as support for restricted giving sport program funds and fundraising initiatives for all 18 varsity sport programs and cheerleading.
