      The Department of Management in the College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management position with a focus in entrepreneurship and/or strategy to begin in Fall 2027. Advanced assistant professors are also encouraged to apply. About the Department: The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 22 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management. Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. The department places primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include engaging classroom experiences, business case studies, hands-on projects, and laboratory exercises designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. In addition to their high involvement in undergraduate education, departmental faculty members play a vital role in delivering the Executive Leadership MBA, Innovation MBA, and Information Security MBA programs. Outside the academic community, faculty members maintain strong connections with the business community in Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Washington, D.C., and interact regularly with members of the department’s advisory board.

    • Passport Center & Operations Specialist - Center for Global Engagement in Harrisonburg

      The Center for Global Engagement is seeking a Passport Center & Operations Specialist to coordinate the daily operations of JMU’s Passport Acceptance Facility and provide operational purchasing and administrative-fiscal support for CGE Operations. This position serves as a U.S. Department of State certified Passport Acceptance Agent Lead and provides accurate, customer-focused passport services to JMU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. This role is responsible for passport application processing, customer service, appointment preparation, documentation review, payment processing, reconciliation, compliance records, inventory management, operational purchasing, small purchase credit card (SPCC) reconciliation, and maintaining accurate internal records. This position requires regular on-site presence. The position may also be required to work occasional adjusted hours, including evening and/or weekend Passport Center hours, to support expanded customer access and operational needs. When adjusted hours are needed, the work schedule will be coordinated in advance and in accordance with university policies.

      The Senior Assistant Director for Centennial Scholars is responsible for the design, development, and delivery programs that advance academic success, financial literacy, and students’ ability to effectively navigate university systems at James Madison University. This role leads the implementation of programs that builds students’ social capital—ensuring they understand, access, and leverage institutional resources, policies, and opportunities.
