Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Events AV Tech. The Events AV Tech provides audio visual set ups and services for all non-student events scheduled by the Events AV Office. Install, Maintain, and update application software and hardware on all Events AV Office equipment. Assist with troubleshooting and running all Audio Visual equipment in Dodd Auditorium. Provide technical advice, and information concerning logistics for events/programs. Assist in recommendations for future acquisitions of AV equipment. Serve as Video Technician as needed in support of the Video recording staff.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PC and Mac computers.
  • Skilled in the operation of audio visual equipment including analog and digital sound mixing consoles.
  • Strong organizational skills required to meet scheduling requirements within finite AV resources. 

 

Required Experience:

  • Experience in the field of AV support and set-up.

 

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent training and experience.

 

Required Licensure:

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License to operate a University/state owned or leased vehicle.

Additional Considerations:

KSAs

  • Knowledge of PC and Mac computer software applicable to the AV industry (Logic Pro, Microsoft Office, etc.). 
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance of Audio-visual equipment.
  • Skilled in the maintenance of audio visual equipment. 

EDUCATION

  • Completion of a college degree in the area of audio/sound with concentration in sound reproduction.

Experience

  • Experience with video recording and editing.
  • Experience with digital & analog Consoles.
  • Experience with Crestron Control systems.
  • Experience with Live music mixing.
  • Experience with camera operation.
  • Experience with stage lighting.
