Department Summary The College of Health and Public Service (HPS) at the University of North Texas, distinguished as one of the few Tier One research universities designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities, and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, and urban planning. Position Overview The Department of Public Administration at the University of North Texas invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2025. The hire will primarily serve the undergraduate Urban Policy and Planning degree program and will support the broader course offerings within the Department. The Department seeks candidates whose research portfolio focuses on a substantive subfield of urban planning. Subfields of interest include housing, land use planning, or transportation. An offer of employment for these positions will be made dependent upon available funding. |
Minimum Qualifications • Doctoral degree in urban planning, or a closely related discipline, by the time of appointment |
Preferred Qualifications • A Ph.D. in urban planning from a PAB-accredited planning program |
