Department Summary The Counseling Program at UNT Dallas develops skilled, culturally-competent counselors who serve as catalysts for positive change, promoting wellness across diverse populations - from children to adults, and families to communities - both locally and globally. Our institution offers two distinguished CACREP-accredited master's degrees in school counseling and mental health counseling. Students benefit from close mentorship by our accomplished faculty, who bring extensive clinical experience and research expertise to the classroom. Through a combination of authentic experiential learning and evidence-based training, our program prepares graduates to become effective leaders and passionate advocates for diversity, making meaningful impacts in the communities where they serve. |
Position Overview UNT Dallas is seeking qualified individuals to establish a robust pool of talented adjunct instructors for our growing counseling programs. Selected candidates will be responsible for teaching master's-level counseling courses across multiple formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction using Canvas learning management system. The ideal candidates will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching excellence and dedication to student success. |
Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Counselor Education or a closely related field from a CACREP-accredited university and maintain active status as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a minimum of two years of experience, or hold equivalent licensure in a counseling field. |

Preferred Qualifications For School Counseling positions, candidates must hold Texas School Counselor Certification and demonstrate a minimum of three years of school counseling experience, including supervision responsibilities. Additionally, candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge of TEA requirements and maintain active memberships in state and national school counseling organizations. |
