Department Summary

The University of North Texas (UNT) College of Music is the largest public university music program and one of the most respected comprehensive music schools in the United States. Position Overview

The Division of Instrumental Studies seeks an organized, experienced, energetic chamber musician to coordinate and oversee our woodwind chamber music program beginning fall 2025. This is a 9-month part-time lecturer position that is not tenure eligible. Teaching responsibilities include weekly instruction of undergraduate and graduate woodwind chamber ensembles and other duties as assigned. Administrative duties will include all aspects of coordinating the program including, but not limited to: reviewing syllabi and chamber music course policies, coordinating class rosters for woodwind chamber music students, organizing faculty coaches, and supervising graduate chamber music Teaching Fellow(s).

Minimum Qualifications

Earned master’s degree in music. Demonstrated success performing chamber music professionally. Demonstrated excellence as a teacher, administrator, and performer. High level of organization. Artist-level performer of solo and chamber repertoire. High and consistent standards of professional ethics and collegiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated success teaching/coaching music at the collegiate level. Demonstrated success in community outreach work. Evident expertise across repertoire including and beyond the European canon.
