Department Summary

The Center for Health Policy has three pillars: Research, Education and Community. These pillars are underpinned by health equity, the translation of research into policy and the practical and effective implementation of policies related to health. The Center focuses particularly but not exclusively on three broad areas: Telementoring & Workforce Development, Rural Health and Whole Health.

Position Overview

This role will support the spectrum of strategic communication for the center. This includes, but is not limited to: website and social media development and maintenance, communication and relationship building with existing and new partners, community outreach and inreach, event communications, operational communications for telementoring models such as webinars, podcasts, and ECHO, and conceptualizing and developing new communication materials.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related professional field and three (3) years of related experience. A combination of education and relevant experience may be substitute for the educational requirement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate strong written, oral and social media communication skills.
  • Demonstrates high-level organization skills with proficient planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work according to schedules and itineraries but also use good judgement on when to be flexible.
  • Demonstrate discipline and diligence with social media.
  • Ability to be a team player and work well with others.
  • Ability to be a strong multi-tasker.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Communications or related field
  • Experience with multiple strategic communication methods
  • Experience conceptualizing and developing new communication materials

Job Duties:

  • Coordination of strategic communication for multiple projects, programs and initiatives 
  • Assist in conceptualization and development of creative compelling content for outreach collaterals 
  • Development and management of social media platforms and websites 
  • Maintain stakeholder outreach communications 
  • Community outreach and inreach 
  • Telementoring operational communications 
  • Event planning, promotion and operation communications
