Department Summary Student Accounting is deeply committed to delivering the highest quality of innovative student account and financial services to the UNT community, helping ensure UNT’s enrollment and financial success. Our team is responsible for assessing and collecting all tuition and fees, processing waivers, exemptions, veterans' educational benefits, third-party sponsorships, tuition benefit programs, refunds, departmental deposit and financial services, and tax reporting. |
Position Overview This position serves as student support for essential functions related to student account maintenance, employee and student tuition benefit programs, sponsored student/program billing, third party contracts, waivers, and exemptions. Manages sponsor contract information, state exemption and waiver program records, and ensures compliance across all programs. |
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 2 years of experience in accounting, billing/receivable or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in higher education, or experience working in an industry with high volume payment transactions. A successful individual in this role will possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and a process improvement mindset. The optimal candidate in this position will possess a high degree of accountability, attention to detail and embrace change management. They will be able to maintain a complex workload with competing deadlines and will be able to communicate effectively to students, campus partners, and team members. The individual will be able to develop effective working relationships across teams, departments, and divisions to ensure that projects and initiatives are successful. |
Job Duties:

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm with overtime as needed to achieve unit goals or during peak seasons. |
