Department Summary Founded in 1977, the mission of IELI at UNT is to provide the highest quality academic English instruction, student services, and professional development programs for its students. IELI has helped thousands of students achieve English mastery for degree study at the UNT and other universities, as well as providing extensive English Training programs internationally in China, Japan, Thailand, and Türkiye. Since 2014, IELI has run an intensive English program for Kansai Gaidai University (KGU), in Hirakata, Osaka, Japan. |
Position Overview This ESL Instructor role requires candidates to currently live in Japan, relocate to Hirakata City Osaka, hold a work visa, and hold a US passport at the time of appointment. The ESL Instructor position is an onsite, full-time appointment that requires a minimum workweek of forty (40) hours per week to include, but not limited to the following duties:

Minimum Qualifications Master's degreee in TESOL or closely related field. Two years teaching English for Academic Purposes in oral & writing skills at an IEP. Fluency and mastery in English. Successful experience adapting classroom content to better serve student needs. |
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of a second language. |

This faculty position is onsite, located in Osaka, Japan on the Kansai Gaidai University campus and requires relocation to Hirakata, Osaka, Japan to rent-free, on-campus apartment.
