Department Summary The Department of Political Science offers students the opportunity to specialize in American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory. The department also has strengths in areas that bridge traditional sub-field boundaries, such as Peace and Conflict and Political Institution. Exceptional students may apply to complete a Masters degree in political science while an undergraduate student. |

Position Overview This position is responsible for coordination various aspects of a student service centered service or program. Duties include providing customer service to students and other stakeholders, developing and organizing workflow, establishing paperwork processing priorities, reporting, maintaining records, and ensuring deadlines are met. May provide information on processes and procedures for assigned area. |

Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree and two years of office administration experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Considerable knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to the area of assignment. Ability to keep complex records; to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to work without close supervision. Knowledge of safe working procedures related to work performed. |

Preferred Qualifications The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Bachelors Degree in related field and 5 years of progressively responsible office administration experience Previous University/College Office Administration experience Exceptional Customer service skills Knowledge of Canvas Knowledge Considerable knowledge of university policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate) Strong problem solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships Ability to work independently Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed |
