Department Summary

The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning’s mission is to foster an accessible, student-centered, and supportive educational environment that empowers faculty to effectively teach and engage our diverse student body in innovative and creative ways. It will strive to provide resources, training, and collaborative opportunities that promote student learning and success.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Coordinator is critical in advancing the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) mission by managing a diverse portfolio of projects supporting innovative teaching practices and learning initiatives. This position assists the Center's Director and Assistant Director in planning, coordinating, and executing projects that enhance the Center's strategic goals, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and effective collaboration among stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study and 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven work experience in project coordination/management.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational Excellence: Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Collaborative Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to identify process improvements and apply data-driven solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to evolving project demands and dynamic institutional needs.
  • Problem Solving: Effective at anticipating challenges and developing strategic solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
• Experience in educational innovation or a background in teaching and learning environments.
• Familiarity with budgeting, financial tracking, and resource management.

Job Duties

  • Project Management & Coordination
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with the Center's strategic objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective measures to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
  • Serve as a central point of contact for internal teams, faculty, and external partners involved in Center initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Prepare and distribute status reports, project documentation, and presentations to CITL Leadership.
  • Administrative & Operational Support
  • Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, and training sessions, including scheduling, vendor management, and travel arrangements.
  • Manage project-related budgets, track expenditures, and assist with financial reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of Center policies and procedures that streamline operations.
  • Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
  • Evaluate project outcomes and gather feedback to drive continuous improvement in project management practices.
  • Assist in developing and refining tools and processes to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and standards throughout project lifecycles.

Work Schedule

This position is primarily based in an office setting within a higher education environment. Occasional travel may be required for conferences, meetings, or training events.
