Department Summary The College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences (PAHS) at the University of North Texas prepares graduates to address diverse and complex social issues such as aging, disability, disaster management and recovery, criminal justice, health disparities and public safety, and find solutions to challenges in public administration, public health, exercise physiology and urban design. |

Position Overview The Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time Lecturer. This is a non-tenure track, multi-year appointment after a one-year probationary period, pending a satisfactory performance evaluation. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and growing program committed to academic excellence, student success, and community engagement. The Lecturer will teach undergraduate-level courses in criminal justice, with the potential to teach graduate-level courses, support student mentorship and career readiness, and contribute to departmental service. We seek an engaging educator who connects theory to contemporary issues in crime, law, justice systems, and public safety—preparing students to lead in an evolving criminal justice landscape. The candidate selected for this position will be expected to engage in high-quality and innovative instruction in both traditional and non-traditional formats; serve as appropriate on department, college, university and professional committees; and engage in scholarly and professional activities. |

Minimum Qualifications • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field; |

Preferred Qualifications • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Criminal Justice or a closely related field; |
