Department Summary

The Educator Preparation Program at UNT is committed to preparing future teachers in progressively field-based learning environments. Teacher candidate preparation culminates with the supervised clinical teaching semester in EC-12 classrooms in area public schools.

The College of Education Clinical Practice Office supports this goal through partnerships with
district and school teachers and administrators to provide field-based preparation opportunities for both undergraduate and post baccalaureate students seeking initial teacher certification.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Position Overview

The College of Education Educator Preparation Office seeks Site Coordinators who liaison between a specific public school district(s) and the COE Clinical Experiences Director. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters.

This is a part-time position. Work schedule and compensation vary based on assignment.

Core Responsibilities:
*Attend Ed Prep Trainings (online and in-person)
*Partner with the Field Supervisor to ensure student success
*Schedule and lead Host Teacher Orientations/Trainings (number varies based on district)
*Schedule and lead Governance Meetings (number varies based on district)
*Weekly half-day Test Prep on the UNT campus with UNT students (Fall only)
*One (1) Informal Observation (Fall) Residency requires two (2) Informal Observations in the Fall per student in your cadre
*Two (2) Informal Observations per student in your cadre (Spring)
*Schedule and facilitate two (2) Quad Meetings (Fall) per student in your cadre
*Schedule and facilitate two (2) Quad Meetings (Spring) per student in your cadre
*Monthly check-in meetings for Block B/C Combo with Director of Clinical Experiences - Biweekly check-in meetings for Residency with Director of Clinical Experiences

Other responsibilities may include:
*Attendance at UNT COE Ed Prep Programs
*Observation of Teacher Candidates
*Clinical Student Seminars

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in an appropriate education field.
Experience supervising teacher candidates in the state of Texas.
Minimum three years of successful classroom teaching experience in any grade/s EC-12; A working user skill base (or ability to quickly learn and independently use following training) online communication, productivity, and learning management applications such
as Microsoft Word and email, Canvas, etc., which are used for submission, review of assessments, and records retention;
Must be willing to renew or currently hold a valid TX teaching certificate.
Communication Skills: ability to convey information clearly and effectively
Technical Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Watermark

Preferred Qualifications

*Previous Elementary teacher or administrative experience
*Texas certifications in Elementary Bilingual, SpEd, ESL, and/or principal
*T-TESS trained
