Department Summary The Department of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DLAM) is committed to providing UNTHSC faculty, staff, students and other partners with high quality, cost-effective research bio-resources. DLAM has a dedicated and experienced staff that contributes to the HSC’s exemplary program of animal care and use. DLAM provides veterinary and personnel training and expertise in laboratory animal medicine and technology. |

Position Overview UNT Health is seeking a qualified Hourly Relief Veterinarian to provide veterinary services for research animals on an as-needed basis within the Department of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DLAM). Reporting to the Attending Veterinarian, this position provides clinical oversight, veterinary care, surgical and anesthesia support, protocol consultation, and guidance on animal health and welfare. The Hourly Relief Veterinarian supports regulatory compliance and animal care programs while providing supplemental veterinary coverage for DLAM's research and teaching mission. |

Minimum Qualifications A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with post-doctoral training in laboratory animal medicine and five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
