The AR Analyst will provide accounting services in the areas of receiving and processing cash items, petty cash and change funds. This position serves as a liaison between the department, students, and 3rd party vendors.
Essential duties:
- Process student payments, collect money due and record to student accounts.
- Handle student account inquiries, provide customer service for student and other related inquiries.
- Provide timely and accurate response to student emails and phone calls.
- Address student questions and concerns in a polite and confident manner, especially where deadlines and policies are concerned.
- Process and record accounts receivable payments.
- Balance daily cash transactions and prepare bank deposits.
- Verify and process interdepartmental deposits from all auxiliary units, cost centers, and departments.
- Maintain petty cash and change funds as assigned, verifying daily.
- Maintain accounts receivable billing, returned checks, and installment payment files.
- Process student tuition refund requests.
- Serve as back-up for 3rd party invoicing.
- Perform collection account review and assist with collection placement with outside agencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree in business preferred
Candidates must have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Conscientiousness with the ability to follow through on a myriad of details daily
- Initiative with minimal direction
- Ability to address multiple tasks during periods of high volume with grace, tact, and humor
