The HVAC Tech II will be responsible for the upkeep, repair and maintenance of physical aspects of Regent University Student Housing facilities. This includes providing intermediate-level maintenance and service repairs on HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, plumbing and electrical systems according to operational and maintenance procedures. 

Essential duties:

  • Oversee specific jobs that require craft area skills with a primary focus on HVAC.
  • Manage student housing facilities operations.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance necessary to ensure safety and upkeep of Student Housing.
  • Maintain contractual relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Inspect, repair/replace and maintain all HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of work through work order system.
  • Coordinate with maintenance supervisor, student services (area directors) and Facilities Services.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace and inventory of tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Commons Maintenance Supervisor regarding emergency response planning and preventative maintenance inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education and or experience
  • HVAC certification is required
  • Experience with repairs, general knowledge of plumbing & HVAC, painting, carpentry, and filling work orders
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment, heating, and cooling technology, and building fire sprinkler systems
  • Ability to lift 65 pounds, climb ladders and stand for long periods of time

Candidates must have:

  • Experience supervising others in a maintenance shop environment
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently and stay organized
  • Ability to work additional hours for emergencies and complete assignments on schedule
