About the role
The Logistics Transport Officer is responsible for the safe loading, unloading, hitching, unhitching and transportation of Mobile Assets including Mobile Training Units (MTUs), trailers and other TAFE NSW commercial fleet vehicles.
About You
You will enjoy transporting mobile assets with a track record of safety. Able to successfully load, unload, and transporting mobile assets while complying with policy and achieving agile logistics deliverables.
You will be required to start your day from your campus base location at Newcastle or Tamworth. On arrival you will be provided with instructions to complete your vehicle safety check, load, and safely secure equipment before you leave for your required destination. This is a dynamic transport position, you will be required to travel to other locations within NSW to support the maintenance of our MTU, heavy vehicle and commercial fleet or deliver the MTU loaded with equipment to destinations where TAFE NSW teachers train our learners.
You are a professional transport officer possessing expertise, comfortable to use your experience to make decisions with minimal input from other stakeholders.
At times you will be required to fly to various locations for business requirements, load and secure MTU with equipment and return to a TAFE campus.

In addition, you will have the following:
- Hold a Certificate IV in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Hold a current NSW Medium Ridge (MR) or Heavy Ridge (HR) licence.
- Extensive experience in the transportation of Mobile Assets such as mobile units, trailers, commercial fleet.
- Experience demonstrating understanding and compliance with HVNL (Heavy Vehicle National Law) and fatigue management regulations.
