About the role
TAFE NSW is looking for a motivated and organised individuals for a Class Preparation Assistant based at the Bega Campus.
The Class Preparation Assistant is responsible for all hygiene and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and compliance criteria around responsible storage and disposal of food, as well as preparation of classroom commodities and food preparation and class set up.
You will not be required to hold a teaching qualification and are not required to teach or prepare lessons. You will not be required to mark assessments.
About You
In this role, you’ll actively contribute to maintaining hygiene and food safety standards by leveraging your knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety principles. Additionally, you’ll be hands-on in managing equipment levels and maintaining quality control for goods in various areas such as kitchens, cool rooms, freezers, and dry storage.
You will have:
- Certificate II in Hospitality or equivalent, with relevant knowledge & experience.
- Sound knowledge of Food Safety, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles and safe work practices
- Organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Knowledge of relevant consumables and equipment
- Technological and digital literacy
Highly Regarded
- 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, commercial cookery, or related environments.
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Hold certification in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) or willingness to obtain.
