Permanent Full-Time Part-Year (35 hours per week for 40 weeks per year)

Salary of $74,912 - $82,688 p.a. plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (pro-rata)

About the role

Join our dynamic team as a Technical Officer where you will be responsible for preparing, designing/constructing, demonstrating and maintaining various equipment, technology, instruments and/or other resources to support practical aspects of student learning, dependent on the nature of the applicable course skill area. The role supports the preparation and maintenance of learning environments to meet specific technical purposes and performs a range of associated administration and support activities to assist in education program delivery.

About You

You’re a practical, detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills in Maritime and Marine Engineering and a passion for supporting hands-on learning. You excel at preparing and maintaining equipment, technology, and learning spaces, and you’re committed to ensuring smooth, safe, and effective delivery of technical education.

Essential Requirements

  • A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
  • Certificate IV in relevant discipline (Mechanical and/or Maritime) or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience appropriate to the role and particular trade/vocation/skills area.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience of use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment, materials and techniques used in trade/vocation/skills area applicable to the role.
  • Proven ability to create, modify or adapt equipment or other resources to meet particular requirements.

Highly Desirable

  • Heavy Vehicle Licence (minimum LR) to drive a bus/truck when required for practical sessions
