About the role

We are seeking world-class educators to inspire and support learners to gain foundation skills to help prepare them to embark on Career Pathways.

You will help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. In addition, you will facilitate learning by delivering world-class educational programs, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. You will have experience in delivering literacy, numeracy and digital literacy to a diverse range of adult learners.

You may be required to travel to Newcastle, Glendale or in the local community for this role.

In your next role, you will:

  • Teach students face-to-face in classrooms and online
  • Issue, mark and provide comprehensive feedback on assessments
  • Undertake student administration, including marking registers and recording results
  • Undertake section administration as directed by your Head Teacher
  • Maintain relevant relationships with community and other stakeholders and employers

Share your skills and passion for supporting learners to progress towards their career goals

About You

To be successful in this role you must meet the below essential requirements:

1. Hold one of the below qualifications:

  • A recognised*Bachelor degree (AQF 7) in education, with an LLND focus OR
  • A recognised* postgraduate qualification (AQF 8 or higher) in LLND OR
  • A Qualification at AQF5 (or above) and relevant experience in an LLND area

Note: Successful applicants coming in under #3 must complete Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching (ALaNT) + TAELLN skillset (TAESS00026 or predecessor) within 18 months of engagement*. (*ALaNT expected to be available from T2, 2024.) * From an accredited Australian Higher Education Institution, or qualification recognised as equivalent to the stated AQF level or higher by  the Australian Government Country Education Profiles (CEPs) tool

2. Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in teaching.

3. Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.

4. Be prepared to continue to develop your Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
