Location: Blue Mountains Katoomba Campus

Permanent Part Time Part Year – 17.5 hours per week for 41 weeks per year

$63,778 – $78,538 salary package - includes base salary ($56,191 - $69,195), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading paid pro-rata

About the role

The Class Preparation Assistant is to support the teaching effort in the provision of a customer focused high quality, welcoming learning environment, and commitment to the continuous improvement of a Campus’ performance.

Reporting to the Head Teacher, this position is responsible for:

  • Maintaining and cleaning materials cupboards, benches, fixtures, furniture, tools, machinery, and equipment within classrooms, salons, and storage areas.
  • Receiving goods from suppliers and verifying that quantities and quality meet ordering specifications.
  • Ensuring the availability of required stock, consumables, and class materials to support salon and practical training activities.
  • Preparing and organising materials, equipment, and resources required by students and staff to facilitate the effective delivery of classes.
  • Receiving, recording, and storing equipment and resources returned from classes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitoring stock and resource usage levels and recommending replenishment or re-ordering as required.
  • Assisting with inventory control, stock rotation, and the secure storage of equipment and materials.
  • Supporting the maintenance of a safe, clean, and well-organised learning environment in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

You will not be required to hold a teaching qualification and are not required to teach or prepare lessons. You will not be required to mark assessments. 

About you 

You have demonstrated experience working ideally within the Hair and Beauty industry. You have a positive can-do attitude and a willingness to share your industry knowledge and support our students.

 You will have:  

  • Hold a minimum of Certificate III, or equivalent skills, knowledge or experience in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Nail Technology or Makeup.
  • Knowledge of relevant consumables and industry equipment.
  • Knowledge of WHS and chemical management.

    Highly Regarded 

  • 3 years of experience in the hairdressing and beauty or related environments.
