About the role
As the CASA Principal Lead, you’ll play a key role in ensuring TAFE NSW’s aviation maintenance training continues to meet CASA Part 147 regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of quality, safety and compliance. You’ll provide expert advice and guidance to educational leaders and delivery teams, oversee regulatory compliance and audit activities, and help identify and address emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
As a key point of contact for CASA Part 147 requirements, you’ll build trusted relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders and internal partners. You’ll translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions, influence sound decision-making and support the delivery of safe, effective and compliant aviation training that helps build the skilled workforce of the future.
About you
You’re an experienced aviation or regulatory professional with strong knowledge of CASA Part 147 requirements, regulatory obligations, compliance frameworks, audit activities and corrective action programs. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to confidently navigate complex requirements within a highly regulated environment.
You’re also a confident communicator and trusted relationship builder who can engage, influence and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You’re comfortable turning technical information into clear, practical advice and bring a proactive approach to managing risk, strengthening compliance and driving continuous improvement, supported by relevant qualifications and vocational and/or industry experience.
