About the Role

As a Class Preparation Assistant (Cuisine and Hospitality), you'll play an important role in creating a safe, organised and industry-standard learning environment for our students.

Working closely with teaching staff, you'll prepare training kitchens and learning spaces, organise ingredients and supplies for daily classes, maintain stock levels and support ordering requirements. You'll help ensure equipment, resources and facilities are ready for use, while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance.

This is a hands-on role that focuses on the smooth day-to-day operation of our training kitchens. Importantly, you are not required to hold a teaching qualification, deliver lessons or mark assessments.

About You

You are practical, reliable and take pride in maintaining clean, organised and well-presented workspaces. You enjoy the satisfaction of ensuring everything is prepared, stocked and ready when needed.

With strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude, you'll support kitchen operations, manage resources and work closely with teaching staff to create a professional learning environment for students.

This role may appeal to someone seeking flexibility, whether you're returning to the workforce, balancing other commitments, transitioning towards retirement, or looking to stay connected to the hospitality industry in a rewarding support role.

 You will have:

  • Certificate II in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Sound knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles and safe work practices.
  • Current Responsible Services of Alcohol Certification (if required).
  • Knowledge of relevant consumables and equipment.

Highly Regarded

  • Three or more years' experience in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, Catering or a related industry environment
