As the Commercial Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our acquisition and site selection processes. Your expertise in financial due diligence, market analysis, and site assessment will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential targets that align with our strategic objectives.  Reporting directly to C-suite and dealing with the private equity owner representatives will provide invaluable experience and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial due diligence on potential acquisition targets, including financial statement analysis, valuation, and risk assessment.
  • Develop robust financial models to project future earnings, cash flows, and return on investment for potential acquisitions and greenfield sites.
  • Perform Site Economic and Financial Assessment (SEFA) analysis to assess the economic viability and financial sustainability of potential opportunities.
  • Analyse demographic data, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform site selection and investment decisions.
  • Conduct thorough needs analyses to identify gaps and opportunities within target businesses, focusing on operational efficiency, revenue potential, and cultural fit.
  • Support the identification and evaluation of greenfield & brownfield opportunities, including site selection, market analysis, and financial projections.
  • Provide clear and concise communication regarding project status, financial performance, and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Board, and Executive Leadership Team to develop and refine business cases for greenfield and brownfield opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, M&A, or related roles, preferably within the childcare or retail sectors.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with a proven track record of conducting due diligence and market/region analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial modelling software).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the childcare industry and regulatory environment is highly desirable.
