We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to join our team and support the delivery of a major data centre project in Marsden Park, Sydney.

This is a hands-on site-based role where you will partner closely with project leadership, subcontractors and operational teams to drive a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and deliver exceptional HSE outcomes within a complex, high-risk construction environment. Drawing on experience supporting major construction projects, the role focuses on implementing Built's HSE framework, coaching teams, managing risk, and fostering a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

As HSE Manager, you will provide expert safety leadership and support to one of Built's key projects, helping ensure our people, partners and subcontractors go home safely every day.

In this role, you will:

• Support the implementation of Built's HSE Management Plan, policies and procedures across the project. 
• Coach and influence project teams and subcontractors to build a proactive safety culture. 
• Champion critical risk controls and Built Worthy Site Behaviours across site operations. 
• Provide practical advice on HSE compliance, legislation and industry best practice. 
• Facilitate safety training, workshops and critical risk reviews. 
• Lead and support incident investigations, including ICAM investigations where required. 
• Drive reporting and close-out of incidents, hazards, audits and corrective actions. 
• Monitor project compliance through inspections, audits and safety assurance activities. 
• Support injury management, workers compensation and return-to-work processes. 
• Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders, regulators, unions and industry partners.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a practical and influential HSE professional who enjoys being embedded within project teams and partnering with leaders to improve safety outcomes.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, data centres or other high-risk industries.
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and industry best practice.
• Experience supporting large-scale or complex construction projects.
• Demonstrated capability in incident investigation and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits and compliance activities.
• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine passion for creating safer workplaces.
