  • use your technical know-how and business insight to uplift how we approach data, working collaboratively in a complex, evolving environment;
  • support the design, delivery and upkeep of robust data warehouse solutions that power our reporting and integration needs; and
  • team up with colleagues from across the university to craft clear, insightful dashboards and visualisations that spark smart, data-informed decisions.

About you

You’re someone who loves solving complex problems with smart, scalable solutions and you know your way around data pipelines, visualisations, and everything in between. Our ideal candidate is curious, collaborative, and deeply technical, with a passion for turning messy, disconnected data into clear insights that drive meaningful decisions. You enjoy working with others, whether it’s bringing business areas on the journey, making sense of complex systems, or delivering solutions that are secure, reliable and easy to maintain. If you thrive in a space where your ideas are valued, your expertise is trusted, and your work has real impact, you’ll feel right at home here.

You will possess:

  • Strong experience in designing data warehouses, developing BI solutions and creating data visualisations that bring insights to life.
  • Confidence working with Azure tools such as Data Factory, Function Apps and Synapse, along with experience in data engineering, integration, ETL and architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, PowerShell and BI tools, with a strong grasp of one or more data-focused languages or platforms.
  • A sound understanding of data governance, cataloguing, quality, security and privacy—backed by practical experience applying these in complex environments.
  • The ability to design engaging, insightful visualisations that help people understand the story in the data and support strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas clearly and work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong people and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems in innovative and practical ways.
  • Experience in testing frameworks and methodologies, with the ability to develop plans, test files and scripts that ensure data and BI solutions are fit for purpose.
