The Opportunity
Join UniSC as a key player in delivering robust, client-focused infrastructure services! You'll manage and support a diverse range of systems, including compute and storage, wired and wireless networks, firewalls, and data centre infrastructure. Acting as a trusted adviser, you’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while providing second and third level support to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the university.

You will
- Provide primary support for UniSC’s on prem infrastructure, including on prem compute and storage, network infrastructure including WAN, LAN (Wired & Wireless) and other network-related infrastructure services;
- Provide support and fit out participation in the delivery of technical projects by liaising with external vendors, integrators, and technology manufacturers to implement and integrate technologies to meet UniSC’s project requirements and needs; and
- This role will liaise with UniSC internal resources both internally within IT and externally across UniSC departments to ensure successful capture of core requirements, communication of change and architecture decisions, and key understanding of critical impacts to UniSC core infrastructure.

You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for preparing clear documentation and following procedures with precision. Known for your responsive and innovative approach to client service, you work effectively with people of all technical abilities. Whether you're leading a small sub-team or working independently, you use initiative, adapt quickly, and build strong, collegiate relationships to deliver impactful outcomes.
You will possess:
- completion of a relevant degree qualification with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of extensive specialist knowledge, training, and experience, preferably within an enterprise technology environment in organisations of significant size;
- demonstrated experience in infrastructure design, development, and ongoing management in a hybrid environment;
- demonstrated experience in Infrastructure and Cloud technologies (On premise & Platforms as a Service – PaaS);
- ability to communicate complex ideas and facilitate technical discussions across different levels of the organisation and with key project stakeholders. Demonstrated ability leading technical architecture discussions and making recommendations for core organisational architectural decisions via position papers and discussion papers;
- experience conducting team-based training and train the trainer training to disseminate knowledge back to team resources. Experience researching new technologies and industry trends including the use of resources like Gartner to underpin technical decisions and directions for the University;
- demonstrated ability of understanding team requirements and how to operationalise a technical delivery of a project, including project handover activities, process development and operation; and
- demonstrated experience of the ITIL framework and processes.
