The Opportunity

Bring your expertise to a dynamic team where you’ll play a key role in supporting staff, streamlining operations, and driving admin excellence! In this role, you’ll provide high-level administrative leadership and resource support to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the school. With your deep understanding of university structures, policies, and systems, you’ll lead initiatives that enhance workflows, strengthen communication, and support strategic goals across the school. Please note, this position may be required to provide coverage across different Schools or campus locations during staff leave or peak periods

You will

  • provide comprehensive administrative, resource and communications support contributing to the effective operation and overall success of the schools and ASU;
  • provide expert advice and support to the Dean and School Leadership team;
  • act as a key contact point within the schools for academic staff and other university departments;
  • create an outstanding customer experience in line with the imperatives of the University strategic plan; and
  • enhance processes using a continuous improvement and best practice ethos.  

About you

You’re a proactive and resourceful professional who demonstrates sound judgement and approaches sensitive matters with discretion and care. Known for your exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you build strong, respectful relationships and engage confidently with people at all levels. Your well-developed organisational and problem-solving skills help you manage competing priorities, navigate change with ease, and remain calm and resilient under pressure, all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

You will possess:

  • completion of a relevant university degree with subsequent relevant experience in a complex administration environment, or a combination of education and extensive experience and specialist expertise in an administrative field;
  • capacity to collate and analyse data sets and other information to produce high level reports;
  • ability to prepare, organise and manage committee meetings and use initiative to find efficiencies in office processes;
  • an understanding of university policy, processes and risk management; and
  • advanced computer literacy, Microsoft 365 applications, file management, records management, and website/SharePoint authoring.
