Responsibilities include contributing to the preparation and delivery of annual Financial Statements, management reporting, asset management, taxation reporting, and investments. This role is essential for maintaining data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with funding body conditions and relevant legislation, policies, and professional accounting standards.
You will

- coordinate reconciliations and working papers to maintain accurate and reliable financial records; and
- contribute to the development and maintenance of financial systems that enable effective operations.
About you
Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. You’re confident working with complex financial data, legislation, and reporting requirements, and you take pride in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant outcomes. You’re also proactive looking for opportunities to improve processes, support system enhancements, and share your knowledge with others. If you're ready to contribute to a high-performing team and help shape financial services that support UniSC’s growth and success, we’d love to hear from you.
You will possess:
- Proven experience in financial and accounting systems within a medium to large organisation, with confidence navigating complex processes.
- A strong understanding of accounting standards, audit requirements, taxation, and reporting—ideally with experience in the higher education sector.
- A track record of improving financial practices, backed by sharp analytical skills and the ability to rethink processes in practical, sustainable ways.
- Confidence in preparing and analysing high-level financial reports, with experience in business analytics, reporting tools, and grant acquittals.
- High digital literacy and ease working across systems like TechnologyOne, Microsoft 365 tools, and databases.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex requirements and prepare accurate, well-written documentation.
- A strong client focus, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build positive relationships across all levels of the University.
- Excellent organisational skills—you’re comfortable managing competing priorities, working independently, and contributing as part of a team.
Desirable:
- CPA Australia membership (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience using business analytics platforms and report-writing tools.
