The School of Health at UniSC is seeking experienced and passionate Nursing professionals to join our Casual Academic team in 2027. If you are interested in contributing to the education of future nurses and value the flexibility of casual academic work, we invite you to apply.

As a Casual Academic in Nursing, you may contribute to a range of teaching and learning activities across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs. This may include tutorials, laboratory and simulation classes, clinical education support, workshops, online learning activities, and assessment across our campuses and learning environments.
You will
- deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for nursing students across a range of learning environments;
- facilitate tutorials, laboratory and simulation activities, clinical education support, workshops and other teaching activities;
- assess and mark student work in accordance with University standards, providing timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and success; and
- contribute to an inclusive and positive learning environment, maintaining contemporary nursing knowledge and engaging professionally with academic colleagues, clinical partners and students.
About you
We’re looking for experienced and passionate Nursing professionals who are committed to supporting the education and development of future nurses. You’ll bring contemporary nursing knowledge and professional experience to your teaching, with the ability to engage students and create positive and inclusive learning environments. You’ll be a strong communicator who can work collaboratively with academic colleagues and clinical partners while supporting high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
You will possess:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in a health-related field.
- Experience in teaching, tutoring or academic assessment at a tertiary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Ability to assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Evidence of professional development and maintaining contemporary knowledge and practice in the health field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with academic colleagues, clinical partners and students.
